In the vernacular of today, legacy has come to be equated with money and the bequest of little empires to heirs. What might surprise you is that the word originally was used to denote an envoy or ambassador.
For those tying their hopes and dreams to material possessions, good luck with that. We’re physical, temporal beings stuck to a spinning orb in the vastness of the universe and history bears record that empires come and go.
So, what is a legacy — and how do we create one?
The answer to the what and how comes immediately after the why.

Having just returned from the QuickBooks Connect technology conference in San Jose, CA, I am more mindful of possibilities.
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), I was trained in probabilities — however, life is best encountered and enjoyed in the realm of possibilities.
At any conference, many times we learn as much outside the formal sessions as we do sitting in them. A presenter’s opinion is relevant to a specific topic — yet, the surprises usually come at the lunch table.
For our physical nourishment, yes, the provisions were spectacular. Even better were the conversations, which offered food for thought — to stimulate mind, heart, and soul.

Why does a stuttering roadrunner say, “BBeep, BBeep!”?
Because — they are so dang excited about new business opportunities.
They know “BBeep” is the short version of, “Better Business evolving everyday Plan.” Or, we can shorten that to, simply, “Better Business Plan.”

Everything — Begins With YOU
My mission is to guide YOU to personal and business success, according to the vision that YOU establish for us.
I coach intensely passionate individuals, who want personal and business success.
That’s my Storyline; start with nothing and Build Something — Special. And, I know (for a fact) we all have a Story to share.
Success is not going to magically waltz into our lives. And, it is not a destination, at which to arrive. Daily, we must create Success: the unique version each of us has determined to be right — for the benefit of ourselves and the rest of the universe.

Success – Happiness – and, Love
What do these three concepts — Success, Happiness, and Love — have in common?
Yes, I agree — we want all three.
They can’t be bought with money, they can’t be chased down, they won’t magically waltz into our lives — and, if found, they can’t be captured and bound.
Yet, what is the most important facet of these three gems?

If you have the passion for building something special (Attitude) and you have done the challenging work to define who YOU are (Boundaries), then, the final step to success is YOU must go All In (Commitment).
Success is not going to magically waltz into our lives. It is not a destination, at which to arrive. Daily, we must create success — the unique version each of us has determined to be right — for the benefit of ourselves and the rest of the world.
The reason people join cults and gangs is that they want someone else to provide the answers to Life. In other words, they want to shirk the responsibility of making their own choices — and, of being held accountable for their own decisions and actions.
All I can say is, “Good luck with that.” I’ve seen how those stories end — and, it’s never pretty. There is a better way. We get our Attitude right and we get our Boundaries right. Then, we go All In — by sacrificing all of the other options, for a single choice — with Commitment.

When adversity, failure, and heartache are part of my day, the first reaction is not, “Oh, great! These are the seeds of opportunity to learn and grow.”
Yet, the definition of opportunity is:
When the situation is right for you to do something you’re interested in doing, you have the opportunity to do it. The word comes from the Latin phrase, ob portum veniens “coming toward a port” which refers to a favorable wind blowing ships into the harbor. Think of an opportunity as something a good wind blew your way.
When problems raise their ugly, fire-breathing, dragon heads, I’d much rather gather up the black balloons, invite some whiners, crawl off into a cave to lick my wounds, and throw a grand ‘Pity Party’ — all for me.

Life is experienced on a tightrope.
Fine lines of distinction separate This from That.
As an example, the short riddle below, comprised of two sentences, is deserving of being solved. It will be our segue into the Thought Du Jour.
Each sentence is accurate.
Together, they become powerful in thought and deed.

We want what we don’t have.
If we have it, we don’t want it.
Granted, there are a few individuals, who purport that they have risen to a higher level of existence, by not wanting anything. They claim to be perfectly happy with nothing.
Making the best of whatever the situation — in which we find ourselves — is different than doing nothing. Those who do nothing are stuck in a rut, regardless of the rationalization for their inactivity. And, you do know the definition of a rut: A grave with the ends kicked out.
