Protect Your Heart Above All Else for Growth

“Above all else, protect your heart,” encourages an old Proverb.

How important is that singular phrase? Simply: a matter of life and death.

Do we ever pause to THINK? “No one cares as much about my life as I do.”

Generally, the answer is, “No.” Because, we are beset with the societal propaganda encouraging a Rich and Famous lifestyle. In other words, the focus is on obtaining individual worth from the lives of others.

There’s a name for that: Narcissism.

Prove All Things Is The Catalyst For Rewards

What are the three most magical words? Yes, our ears have enjoyed hearing, “I love you.” Yet, how many times in your experience has that been proven to be a lie? These three words will protect your heart: Prove All Things.

In fact, these three words can easily be remembered by the comfort they offer. Similar to a HUG (Hope Understanding Gratitude), the benefit of an effort to PAT (Prove All Things) is a soothing massage for our souls.

Think of your favorite hero — a coach, teacher, or mentor. They were strong of belief and quick to change, when proven wrong. Their rock-solid foundation provided the flexibility to entertain differing views on any topic.

Leadership Solution for Every Imaginable Problem

A recent request for help by a dedicated Employee prompted this synopsis, “The stress you’re experiencing is caused by a lack of leadership.” In other words, there is a leadership solution to every problem.

As happens in our Digital Universe, some of our early “conversations” were via email. Although, the first contact with this frustrated Employee was a phone call from her on Tuesday, April 23rd, 4:02 PM.

From the very beginning, I could hear the urgency in her voice. She had invested two months of her life to find some semblance of order to the chaos she inherited from another bookkeeper.

The accounting platform selected by her Employer was QuickBooks Online, which is a powerful SaaS (Software as a Service) tool for managing financial information.

Mind Operating System Runs At The Speed of Belief

Every great Movie — and I believe Story of life — has one pivotal point in time. When, the Hero has reached the limit to what is humanly possible and faces the moment of Truth.

Will they give up? Or will they open themselves to the Unknown of discovery to achieve beyond their wildest imaginations?

Maybe, you’ve lived up to that moment, made a purposeful chosen effort to accept the Unknown, and have experienced the transformation of your heart and spirit. If so, you could finish this presentation, and your Story would harmonize with the one I’ll share.

Want To

To succeed at anything, we must want to. Not any old ordinary want to will do. The want to that I’m talking about is an all persuasive, gut churning, bone chilling, teeth gritting, and heart aching passionate desire to achieve.

Good, I lost the snowflakes among us. They quit reading half way through the first paragraph. What keeps you here with me? Do you want to know the first step on the road to Success?

Think Know Do

I was sitting at the desk with a salesman and behind him, tacked to the wall was a piece of plain white 8½” x 11″ size paper with these letters: TKD. Thoroughly impressed, I commended his belief in “Think Know Do.”

He grinned sheepishly and confessed that his manager had pinned the sign as a reminder “Time Kills Deals.” My antennas shot straight up. After a tour of their factory, conversations with upper echelons, and a discovery of inferior processes and unethical people, sure enough, “Time Kills Deals.”

So, TKD is a two-edged sword — it can represent success, or defeat.

Grab Another Plate

Having just returned from the QuickBooks Connect technology conference in San Jose, CA, I am more mindful of possibilities.

As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), I was trained in probabilities — however, life is best encountered and enjoyed in the realm of possibilities.

At any conference, many times we learn as much outside the formal sessions as we do sitting in them. A presenter’s opinion is relevant to a specific topic — yet, the surprises usually come at the lunch table.

For our physical nourishment, yes, the provisions were spectacular. Even better were the conversations, which offered food for thought — to stimulate mind, heart, and soul.

Relentless Pursuit

Begin creating something of value and watch what happens. The dark forces of the Universe and people of that disposition will gather their armies in a relentless pursuit to attack YOU — and your creation.

Why?

Because it’s much easier to destroy than to build. Those individuals who won’t build anything special of their own don’t want you to, either.

Seeds of Opportunity are Harvested from Adversity

When adversity, failure, and heartache are part of my day, the first reaction is not, “Oh, great! These are the seeds of opportunity to learn and grow.”

Yet, the definition of opportunity is:

When the situation is right for you to do something you’re interested in doing, you have the opportunity to do it. The word comes from the Latin phrase, ob portum veniens “coming toward a port” which refers to a favorable wind blowing ships into the harbor. Think of an opportunity as something a good wind blew your way.

When problems raise their ugly, fire-breathing, dragon heads, I’d much rather gather up the black balloons, invite some whiners, crawl off into a cave to lick my wounds, and throw a grand ‘Pity Party’ — all for me.
